Pregnancy Induced Lethologica
I’m terrible with words at the moment – I find myself constantly saying the wrong thing or having to stop mid sentence to the sound of crickets in my mind. A lady at the Parent Scaring classes said that pregnant women actually do have the same brain capacity however they allow their minds to wander more frequently. It’s actually quite interesting as I can attest to be talking away and then my brain slips in something totally different – it’s no wonder I’ve got so much to think about, Bugs is due in just over 10 weeks!
Bugs tagged along with Em and I to see P!nk this week, the show was awesome, the vibrations from the bass were so penetrating I could feel Bugs bouncing around inside. She seemed to sleep for the loud parts however she woke up to the classical guitar solo and for Lady Marmalade.
I’ve started waking up once a night to use the bathroom – appartently I’m really lucky that it’s only once!
Em’s work held a baby shower for us on the weekend, Bugs got spoilt, the company was fantastic and I got to show off my newly mastered Strawberry Jolouise.
Placenta Pillow
Tonight we had a 4d ultrasound, Bugs slept through the whole thing with her hands behind her head and head resting on the placenta.
It was a little uncanny, she seemed to know we were watching and would break in to cute grins – maybe she was dreaming. Like a proper little lady, she kept her legs closed however we were able to peek in when she moved… Bugs is definitely a girl! What a relief.
I Waddle When You Are Not Here
Pregnant women waddle – not me I say!
Em and I have a ongoing faux argument that I’ll eventually start to waddle, however I feel the outcome will not be in my favour. I’ve noticed I’ve started to waddle when Em isn’t in viewing range and inevitably I won’t be able to help waddling all the time.
I’m starting to regret my comment to Carolyn that I’ll be able to sit with my legs together right until Bugs is born!
Easter was good, we went to Sydney and our friends got us tickets to Bugs’ first concert and the Easter Bunny brought me Colostrum!
My family has really been spoiling Bugs, I can’t wait until Wednesday to confirm Bugs’ gender so all the clothes will be appropriate!
Em says I have a linear nigra which is a little bit impressive.
We’ve slipped quietly into the final trimester, if this were ice hockey then we’d be going out all guns blazing however I’m hoping time slows down so we can get some of the things we need to finish done!
Bugs’ room now has a dimmer switch so the nursery only needs painting, a blind, curtains and the funky dinosaur border.
