Cracked the 100 days to go!

Our due date – once seen as a tiny speck on the horizon is hurtling towards us as we hover near entering the “Third Trimester” *queue Twilight Zone music*.

Cody is fun to play with already, after acknowledging her sense of humour after she scared Em with her giant kick, we’ve started to watch her reactions to other things. At our birth/baby class on Tuesday night Em poured me an icy cold glass of water. A short while after drinking, Cody was spinning round – quite obviously displeased with Em’s offerings. However, last night while at the cinema watching Freedom Writers, it became obviously that she was enjoying the frozen coke and popcorn we had as her movements were more gentle – or maybe she was enjoying the movie?

My belly suddenly “popped out” over the last week, my very scientific way of measuring this was me jumping on Em’s bike to move it out of the garage and my belly resting on the fuel tank. Oh my! My favourite jeans seem to be in need of some more space and my tshirts are bearing the stretch of my belly too.

So today marks 98 days until Cody’s expected arrival.

Kicking for Australia

I was reading aloud to Em last night and Cody was kicking up a storm. I asked Em if she’d want to feel as she hadn’t been privvy to our daughter’s excellent kick previously.

Em placed her hand dubiously onto my bulging tummy, she was still a little freaked out by me explaining what the kicks felt like inside. Cody kicked – “Did you feel that?”. “No” said Em. Again, Cody kicked – “Did you feel that?”. “No” said Em. At this point I think Cody was a bit annoyed and she let loose with the biggest kick I have felt to date. Em sprung away in surprise and cringed on the edge of the bed in shock. Cody settled down promptly after that, satisfied her work was done.

Seems she’ll be a striker :D

Getting Around and the PBC Expo

My Mum bought Cody a Safe n Sound Capsule – it’s going in to the SP20 as the SP23 has leather seats so we thought the more stationary carseat would be better.

Safe n Sound Capsule

Our cars are both hatches so we need to get an extension for the capsule to fit – we’ll do that when we get it fitted.

Yesterday we went to the Pregnancy, Babies and Children’s Expo and picked up a bunch of things for Bugs – bringing home a box of nappies has made everything a lot more real. We’re also down to only 2 payments left on the big layby – we added some more things to it; a sheet set, some colour nappies, muslin wraps and a very cute pink striped beanie.

Classes at our hospital start next week, they are for 4 Tuesdays – it will be interesting to see how Em handles the birth related visuals the poor Poppet.

We also have a 3d/4d ultrasound in a few weeks, it’s really to check Bugs’ gender and to give our God Daughter a sneak preview. Bugs’ll be here in 16 weeks – 111 days. Cool.
