11 Weeks Today
According to my U-Beaut weeks calendar, we’re 28% of the way through the pregnancy already – what a surprise.
Thankfully the morning sickness has abated somewhat and I’m not having to eat fastidiously every 2 hours. I’m even interested in food again, almost.
Em and I have both been sick with nasty colds, it’s been really difficult riding through it without being allowed any drugs but I’m feeling much better today
Things seem to have been finalised with my Mum, we’re seeing her at about lunch time Christmas Day. We’ve got print outs of our last ultrasound that I’ll copy and get framed. Mum and I spoke for a while today and it was so hard to not say “Actually Mum, I’m pregnant and you’re getting another grandchild!”. I keep telling myself “One week to go, one week to go!”.
We Have a Foetus!
Last week was quite an exciting one!
We had our first appointment with the OB – and the first ultrasound – Tummy Bug was right on schedule for development measuring 9w4d. We got to see the heartbeat which was pretty exciting. The OB got a really clear shot and we got to see the arms, legs, bum, head and heart – totally blew me away! Em said she feels a lot more protective now we’ve seen the Bug. It has definitely made it more real for me too.
The OB was fantastic and helped us pick the hospital we’ll be delivering at; he was very cool about the same sex thing and treated Em really well.
I’ve been getting more morning sickness, my immune system is shot again after I caught a cold last week that went straight to my lungs and I think that is the reason. Em’s been sick too so we’ve been napping together like nannas.
Even though she’s been sick, Em’s been great, I got a call at work the other morning from her reminding me to have a snack as I hadn’t been able to eat my breakfast – awwwwww.
And here is the first picture of the Tummy Bug – the bright bit in the middle is the heartbeat!
